Today was a beautiful day here in Antigua. The team seemed to get a good night's rest and were ready for our first full day of working. We all went as a group to the Radio Lighthouse and got a tour of the station. It was good for the team members to get to see the vision and history of the Lighthouse. Nathan then took us all to the AM tower transmitter and explained how it all worked and the blessing behind the donation of the land. It is always good to be reminded that God is a God of provision.
After that, we all split into different teams and got to work. Several people went outside and did some repairs and painting. Some got to do some production work for the station. Cameron, Josh, and Bridget starting working on one of our biggest projects for while we are here. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the station. We get to help work on telling the stories of some of the lives who have been changed because of the ministry of the Radio Lighthouse. It is a great opportunity. Four girls went into town and helped at an after school reading program at one of the Christian schools. They encouraged the children in their reading skills by listening to them reading out loud. I am thankful for Katie and Janice who stayed with my girls during "nap time" so I could help chauffeur and get groceries.
We had a good dinner as a team and made plans for tomorrow. Everyone was much more alive tonight and we had a great time of fellowship and laughter. I am pleased to say that everything is going well and the team is working hard and getting along great! Thank you for your prayers. We look forward to a busy Friday here tomorrow.
Good night!
Kathryn Gamet
